My name is Meir Gur, and I'm a dog photographer. For the past 10 years, I've been photographing dogs, teaching photographers, and leading workshops across Europe.
Instead of talking about myself, I'd rather let my photos do the talking. Feel free to explore the galleries on my website and see if my work speaks to you.

ABOUT MY WORKSHOP
Theory

Building a complete cinematic look from start to finish
PRACTICAL PRACTICE
During the workshop, we'll head out for two photo walks, each lasting approximately 2.5 hours.
We'll explore two carefully selected locations, each offering a completely different atmosphere.
One will be an urban location in the heart of Helsinki (the exact location will be announced closer to the workshop), while the second will take us into Finland's beautiful nature – a beach, a forest, or a combination of both, depending on the conditions.
Together, they'll give you the opportunity to create two completely different cinematic looks within the same workshop.
Throughout the practical sessions, you'll learn how to choose the right lens for each location, work with the background instead of against it, find the best shooting angles, and understand when and how to create beautiful background blur.
You'll also learn how to capture the dog's attention, create stronger poses and expressions before pressing the shutter, and make the most of every moment during the session.
Most importantly, I want you to leave not only with better photos, but with a new way of seeing light, locations, and visual storytelling through your images.
WHAT YOU NEED

DSLR or mirrorless camera.

Lenses ranging from 11mm to 135mm. Fast lenses (with a wide maximum aperture) are recommended. Feel free to contact me if you'd like specific lens recommendations.

A laptop with Adobe Lightroom (or Camera Raw) and Photoshop installed.

A basic understanding of manual camera settings (ISO, aperture, and shutter speed).

The workshop is limited to 13 participants.
A minimum of 8 participants is required for the workshop to take place.
The workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced photographers who want to improve their skills and expand their portfolio.
The workshop will be conducted in English.
Theory Location
The exact location of the classroom will be announced in the beginning of January 2027.
Practical Sessions
The practical sessions will take place at two carefully selected locations in and around Helsinki
.
Price
The participation fee is €420.
Meals, transportation, and accommodation (if required) are not included.
REGISTRATION
Registration will officially open on January 1, 2027. Until then, you're welcome to reserve your place through early registration.
You are welcome to register by sending me a private message on Facebook or Instagram, or by emailing dogs@meirgur.com.
Your place will be reserved upon receipt of a €50 deposit. The remaining €370 must be paid by March 15, 2027.
If you cancel your participation at least 4 weeks before the workshop, your deposit will be fully refunded.
If I have to cancel the workshop for any reason, all payments will be fully refunded.
Payment can be made via PayPal or bank transfer.
If the workshop cannot take place due to extraordinary circumstances (a new pandemic, a world war, or any other unexpected apocalypse...), it will simply be postponed.
